Qtec's network services business unit offers a wide array managed voice, data and application services. Qtec is carrier neutral; aggregating and interconnecting with most Australian "last mile" providers. This allows us to offer the best possible price and network coverage.

Voice Services
Qtec's CommVantage suite of products offer a wide array of business grade voice services.

Fixed line voice services
Fixed line voice services are offered as either traditional switched or directly connected convergent services. Analogue PSTN, ISDN BRI, ISDN PRI and IP trunk interfaces are available for connectivity to customer premises equipment. Switched long distance services are offered via override code, preselect and preselect with local access rebill. Directly connected services are delivered via either VoIP, VoDSL or primary rate ISDN. All fixed line voice services fully support local number portability (LNP), the Integrated Public Number Database (IPND), emergency 000 and lawful intercept.

Inbound voice services
CommVantage Inbound is an inbound voice service providing 13, 1300 and 1800 number access to help keep your customers connected to you. CommVantage Inbound makes it easier for your customers to talk to you and offers many business benefits including:
• A single national number with multiple answering points across the country - delivering increased efficiency and potential cost savings.
• Avoiding the cost and business impact typically associated with moving premises or changing geographic telephone and fax numbers.
• After-hours diversion and diversion of services in the event of an emergency.

With Qtec’s CommVantage Inbound you are able to receive calls from most locations in Australia and from most networks. Customised coverage is available to target a particular state or group of states or to block calls from mobiles - thus keeping costs down.

Access to your CommVantage Inbound 13, 1300 or 1800 number may be restricted to selected callers. For example a number maybe set up explicitly for suppliers or distributors calling the business regularly.

Customised call barring allows calls from certain numbers to be blocked - for example, calls from mobiles, selected callers or certain calling areas. A business with a 1800 number in Sydney may elect to block calls to this number originating from the Sydney local calling zone and provide a local 02 number for Sydney callers to dial instead.

Flexible call distribution includes routing using a wide range of models including:
State (8 zones), Charge District (206 zones), Standard Zone Unit (2,099 zones),
Exchange Service Area (4,965 zones), Mobile Location Identifier (MoLI) (203 zones), Postcode (2,593 zones), Selected Caller Treatment or “Silver” service, Time of Day,
Day of Week, Day of Year, Call Splaying and Call Overflow.

Teleconferencing
CommVantage Teleconference frees you from the cumbersome and limited 3-way conferencing built into handsets and PABX systems. The service allows you to conduct conference calls with up to 200 simultaneous participants. Teleconferencing helps put an end to “phone tag” and eliminates wasted time associated with travel and parking. Meeting in a virtual audio conference room is easy, instant and secure. Audio conference rooms are secured with a PIN allowing entry only to authorised participants. Audio conference rooms are available on demand and do not need to be pre-booked. Sound quality and clarity are guaranteed making for excellent overall experience. Combined, these features facilitate teamwork and collaboration while saving you the time and hassle associated with physical meetings. Local dial-in numbers are available in all Australian capital cities and major regional locations - further saving you from long distance call costs. Using CommVantage Teleconference, your next meeting can be conducted from your home, car or office.

The Qtec Data Network
Qtec operates a national MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switched) network in Australia, leasing capacity bandwidth from major telecommunication suppliers (infrastructure and fiber owners). The low latency and high throughput of this MPLS network suits the demands of real-time applications such as voice and video. All last mile connectivity has bandwidth allocation guaranteed on the network backbone. Qtec’s fully redundant national network provide clients with a secure and guaranteed path between multiple offices and the ability to add additional sites as the need arises. A meshed network design is an added advantage of the network since all data is not required to pass through a single head site, providing greater bandwidth efficiency. This is particularly important in running real-time applications such as voice. Sites can have access to the Internet and to data backhaul services through multiple connections to Qtec. This enables central control of company wide Internet access. Having Internet access housed at Qtec removes the need to have a large connection at any one location and enhances Internet security. Operating a true corporate grade network requires both carrier and technology redundant connectivity. A client's network traffic can automatically switch between paths as necessary as well as providing burstable bandwidth on demand. Qtec has the ability to securely monitor each client's managed private network. This substantially reduces the level of support and equipment required by the client. Both the managed IP network and the dedicated Internet access are backed with a service level agreement (SLA) that provides each client with guarantees on the service delivered.

Application Services
Hosted applications are at the heart of Qtec’s outsourcing philosophy and business model. The network is built to host applications that will be used by businesses and end users. Hosted applications include:

• Email and messaging (POP3, IMAP and Exchange)
• Spam/virus filtering
• Email archiving
• Content hosting (Windows, Linux, PHP, Perl, ASP .NET, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Cold Fusion)
• Offsite backup and data storage
• Firewall (Cisco)
• Network monitoring
• CRM
• Corporate intranet
• eFax and voicemail (unified messaging)
• IP Centrex (hosted PBX)
• Teleconferencing
• SMS

Hosted application services give you all the benefits of sophisticated, business critical applications without the capital expenses, management expenses and complexity associated with running them in-house. This dramatically reduces costs, time-to-market and increases accountability.
